Cornel Olivier

Born and raised among the beautiful vineyards of Stellenbosch, South Africa, Cornel worked closely with his grandfather on the family farm where he learned about growing grapes and making wine. After graduating from Elsenburg Agricultural College with a degree in Viticulture and Wine Science, he worked for two wineries in the Stellenbosch area gaining experience in making prestigious wines. He moved nine years ago to Old Mission Peninsula to kick start his cool climate wine making career.

During his term as winemaker at a neighboring winery, Cornel made several different international award winning wines and earned the reputation as a world class winemaker. Cornel’s philosophy is that good wine is made in the vineyard, and a guiding hand in the cellar is all what it takes to make quality wines.
