The big brother to Cuvée Beatrice. With darker cherry, spiced plum, hints of clove and herbs, and a lingering finish, it struts a confident line between the relaxed California and cultured French styles of Pinot Noir.

Wine Profile
Vineyard Notes
All of our Pinot Noir vines were planted in 2008. The grapes used in the D. Cuvée are grown facing east, allowing gentle morning sunshine to gradually ripen the fruit. The two clones used - 114 and 777 - are known for the dense, complex black fruit and leather, tobacco, and spice driven characteristics in the wines they produce.
Production Notes
Our Pinot Noir clones are all harvested and kept separate throughout vinification in order to maintain their distinct clonal characteristics. We gently destemmed and crushed the grapes, and then allowed for a five day cold soak to extract optimum color and flavor. The juice underwent fermentation in stainless steel, and was punched down three times daily during the process. We then transferred the wine to oak barrels, where it underwent malolactic fermentation and 10 months of aging.

This was our favorite wine of the tasting this past weekend. Unexpectedly dry, complex, balanced and could stand up to a west coast pinot in a pinch.
