Located up yonder (just 2 miles down the road), the Fouch VIneyard grows some wicked awesome grapes that create a fragrant, lusher style of off-dry Riesling. Mad floral, tropical fruit, and rich honeysuckle aromas carry through to the palate, and a bright citrusy finish makes this one hella good Riesling. Would this be amazing with lamb curry, orange halibut, or a crisp BLT? You betcha!
The Fouch Vineyard is locates about 1.5 miles south of the 2 Lads farm on Smokey Hollow Rd. The Fouches planted 2 vineyard blocks - one in 2006, one in 2009 - totaling approximately 5 acres. The blocks have different soil profiles, slopes, and Riesling clones, which create a unique blend of flavors and aromatics.
The grapes were crushed and sent directly into a single stainless steel tank. One yeast strain was used, with fermentation stopped at the perfect sweetness level to balance the wine's acidity and enhance the bold aromatics.
