16 months French oak, 20% new

Dark blue and black fruit. Rich and plummy texture with fine yet firm tannin structure.
It was a cool spring, followed by an average to warm summer. Fall rains came early, and all the Merlot was harvested after a frost at the beginning of November.
The grapes were 100% destemmed and fermented in stainless steel fermenters for 21 days. The fermentation was 100% indigenous, both for primary and secondary (malolactic) fermentation. The wine was aged on lees for 16 months in 100% French oak, 20% of which was new. The remainder was a blend of 2-year and neutral French oak.
