15 months of lees aging in small steel barrels resulted in a wine with a rich, unctuous mouthfeel that's not what you expect from a Riesling - but somehow it's everything you never knew you wanted. Limited quantity available.
At 1.2 acres, Riesling is the smallest planting on the 2 Lads farm. The deep alluvial soils help to develop of a different flavor profile than Riesling grown elsewhere on Old Mission peninsula.
The defining characteristic of this wine is the amount of time it spent on the lees, which gives it a very rich mouthfeel.
It was a cool spring, followed by an average to warm summer. Fall rains came early, and most of the Riesling was harvested around or after a frost at the end of October. This Riesling was picked after the frost.
