Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
Aromas: Asian pear, magnolia, cream soda, Golden Delicious apple, citrus. Flavors: Asian pear, fresh fig, Granny Smith apple. Finish: long, rich, acid-driven.
Vineyard Notes
It was a cool spring, followed by an average to warm summer. Fall rains came early, and the grapes were picked in the middle of the rain event. Leaving them out in the rain longer was not going to gain anything in maturity, while risking loss of quality due to the wet weather.
Winemaker Notes
Fermentation took place predominantly in stainless steel tanks, with a small portion fermented in neutral French oak barrels. Doing so built texture from the barrel while still maintaining the bright, crisp, fruity quality inherent to tank fermentation.
