Aromas: red pie cherry, rose petal, herbes de Provence. Flavors: cranberry, red currant, red raspberry. Finish: structured, long, good acidity.
It was a cool spring, followed by an average to warm summer. Fall rains came early, and the grapes were picked in the middle of the rain event. The harvest was timed to ensure the grapes still had ample acid to make a bright, crisp rosé.
The juice is soaked on the skins overnight—just long enough to get a small amount of color without too much extraction. It is then pressed into a tank and settled for 2 days before racking off lees to another tank for a stainless steel tank fermentation. It is the lightest of the three rosés produced from the vintage.
